White House Easter Egg Roll 1We joined President Obama, the first lady and more than 30,000 guests on the White House South Lawn on Monday, April 21, for the 136th annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

YouTube sensation Cam Anderson opened the event with a breathtaking rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” leaving even the president and first lady visually stunned.

Another wow factor – for the guests, especially – were the celebrities in attendance, including Jim Carrey, Michael Strahan, Ariana Grande, NFL athletes and Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster.

White House Easter Egg Roll 2“Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape” was the theme of this year’s event to support the first lady’s Let’s Move! initiative. Children and families participated in a variety of activities and events, including cooking, storytelling and live music performances. President Obama excited the crowd as he read and acted out different parts of the children’s book “Where the Wild Things Are,” which is said to be one of his favorites. The main event, of course, was the Easter Egg Roll.

A few of us from the Griffin & Company team were stationed in the Eggtivity Zone, where we volunteered alongside Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and helped children race through a rainbow-colored tunnel.

This year’s event was a huge success and we are happy to have been a part of it!
